Coaching
I provide coaching for executive directors, leadership team members, boards of directors and individual board members. Leading a nonprofit or foundation is complex, nuanced work, and the outcomes matter to your community, grantees and the viability of your organization. I'm here to listen carefully and to contribute to the analysis, prioritization and strategies that will accomplish your goals. Nonprofit leadership can often be a lonely endeavor – having an experienced thought partner and enthusiastic cheerleader is powerful.

I work closely with families, companies, and foundations to help craft and realize their philanthropic vision. I can also connect you with the right organizations to advance your mission and help nurture those relationships — leveraging both experiences as a foundation executive director and a nonprofit grantee. Strategy for Change & Growth
I help guide organizations through the analysis, planning, and execution of significant strategic initiatives as well as provide support around the day-to-day shifts all nonprofits face. You may need to assess whether your organization is ready for new approaches to accomplish your mission. You may know that your organization is going to make a big change but need to craft the plan forward. Or you may feel the need for support with the ever-present opportunities and challenges that require resilience and change management. As both an executive director and board member, I have repeatedly led organizations through times of change, from the start-up phase to strategic planning to ambitious expansion.
Board Relations & Board Development
I support you in maximizing your board through the entire life cycle – from initial board recruitment to expectation setting, impactful board engagement, healthy board transitions, and the maintenance of long-term connections with past board members. Nonprofit organizations, foundations included, are only as strong as their boards of directors. But this group of volunteers can be easy to overlook, underutilize, and inadequately support. I can partner on board recruitment, composition, expectations, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), engagement, fundraising, committee structure, meeting design, and more. I have two decades’ experience managing boards and have also served as an active and engaged board member for numerous organizations.
Fundraising Strategy
I will help you assess your fundraising strengths and challenges and create the strategy that will achieve your goals. This work can take a great many forms including: refining your staff structure and work plans, growing your circle of champions including your boards, diversifying sources of funding, crafting creative corporate partnerships, engaging and inspiring major donors, defining and articulating your value proposition, launching a campaign or legacy giving and more. My expertise here includes growing organizational revenue nearly tenfold (from $600k to $5M) through a diversified strategy that involved foundation, corporate, individual and government support.
